Hold Down Bolts – Materials and Standards
HD Bolts Australia provide industrial grade fastening solutions in a fast turnaround time.
All our threaded rods are hot dipped galvanized Grade High tensile. All our nuts and washers comply with Australia Standards AS1252. We use F17 Formply which is superior to the elements and provides an effective material to hold the rack while it is being concreted.
The Formply is glued with phenol formaldehyde resin and overlaid with a hard durable waterproof marine resin impregnated paper to give concrete a smooth finish. Formply can withstand the rigours of construction and moisture and provides significant weight and flexibility advantage over the older steel methods.
HD Bolts Australia supplies hold down bolts in all custom sizes and we fabricate these products to the highest standards and in full compliance with the strictest engineering regulations.
In addition to these typical styles of hold down bolts where there is a plate on top with threaded bar and square washers we also supply variants on the product to which the same vernacular often applies:
Rag bolts – or foundation bolts, often come in a “U”-shape, or in longer examples, feature a ”J” or “L”-shaped hook in one end.
Materials we use
- Metric coarse threaded rods between 16mm and 36mm, hot dip galvanized Grade 4.6 or 8.8.
- All nuts and washers are Hot Dipped Galvanized supplied to Grade 8.8 and complies to AS1252.
- Square plates are all Hid Dip Galvanized 6mm to 20mm thick, between 50mm and 100mm wide
- Our HD bolt tops are held together with Hardwood F17 Formply
